A few weeks ago, security chief Dom DiSandro, or “Big Dom” as he’s also known, made a lot of headlines for an altercation on the sideline of a Philadelphia Eagles game against the San Francisco 49ers, which resulted in his ejection due to an altercation with linebacker Dre Greenlaw.
Although it seemed somewhat harmless when it happened on the field during this NFC heavyweight showdown between the 49ers and Eagles, DiSandro was assessed a $100,000 fine by the NFL for his altercation with Greenlaw, which seems a bit steep for what actually transpired.
As expected, DiSandro decided to appeal the $100,000 fine, as anyone would who felt the punishment was a bit over the top, but it appears the NFL has denied his appeal, according to Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press.

This seems like quite an unfortunate situation for DiSandro, even though he’s become a household name in Philadelphia and a bit of a hero among Eagles fans for what happened.
It’ll be interesting to see if there’s anything else that will follow up this appeal denial, even though the Eagles will almost certainly pay the fine for DiSandro.
Along with this altercation being a bit of a distraction for the Eagles, Philadelphia hasn’t been the same since this game, with the defending NFC champions losing three straight games and being in danger of being unable to be a force to be reckoned with once the NFL playoffs get underway.
