The 2023 NFL season is officially over for the Chicago Bears, with the team having already been eliminated from playoff contention ahead of the regular-season finale against the division-rival Green Bay Packers.
Even though the season is over for the Bears, with a lot of question marks heading into the NFL offseason, mainly what the future holds for star quarterback Justin Fields, Chicago has a chance to play playoff spoiler against their bitter rivals on Sunday in Green Bay at Lambeau Field.
With the Packers still in playoff contention in the NFC, the cheesehead faithful will be out in full force on Sunday in Green Bay, which will make for a difficult environment for Fields and company to finish the season strong.
Ahead of the regular-season finale against the Packers, Fields talked about playing in Green Bay this weekend, and he couldn’t help but take a shot at Packers fans via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
“Their fans are gonna be loud because there’s not much to do in Green Bay except watch football,” Fields said.

Even though the Packers are favored to come out on top in this game, with Green Bay winning five of their last seven games and Jordan Love looking like the future face of the storied franchise, the Bears will likely put up a fight and look to make an impressive statement heading into an interesting offseason for Chicago.
The Bears will have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which will almost certainly be a quarterback, with Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and Michael Penix Jr. all potentially in contention to go to Chicago.
If that happens, the Bears will likely move on from Fields, which makes this last game his last chance to prove his worth to the team or other teams with trade interest.
