Mara Lezama attends the Catem congress in support of Claudia Sheinbaum.

Governor Mara Lezama was a guest at the XV Congress of the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM), where Claudia Sheinbaum, National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, also participated.

At the event held in Mexico City, the Governor of Quintana Roo reiterated her strong support for Claudia Sheinbaum and emphasized their joint efforts, sitting beside her at the head table along with other officials and Morena leader Mario Delgado.

The CATEM congress serves as a forum for discussions with union representatives aimed at improving working conditions, especially for employees in Quintana Roo.

Founded 15 years ago, this union now has approximately 7 million members across 1,192 labor organizations in different sectors.

“Thank you, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum, for making time in your busy schedule. First, you governed my home, Tlálpan, of which I am so proud; then you led this city, and soon, you will see what lies ahead. A truly exceptional woman, thank you, my dear friend,” stated Pedro Haces, union leader.

In response, Sheinbaum announced the formal creation of a coalition with the workers’ union.

“Next Monday, we will officially begin the pre-campaign process for the Presidency of the Republic, and I invite you all to join us in this journey. I assure the workers that we will continue fighting for their wages and labor rights, because we know that when workers thrive, businesses and Mexico thrive too.”
