Claudia Sheinbaum remarked, “The health of Mexico’s workforce is the health of our nation.”

MEXICO.- During the XV National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM), Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, underscored the crucial role of collaboration between workers and employers in ensuring the country’s prosperity. She emphasized the importance of expanding labor rights and avoiding any regression to previous practices.

In her speech, Sheinbaum Pardo highlighted that aligning objectives is vital to sustaining the transformation of public life in Mexico. She emphasized that the primary goal should be to continue progressing with the Fourth Transformation while preventing a return to times marked by corruption and privilege.

Following the inauguration of the first Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation within CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated her dedication to guaranteeing a dignified life for workers, stressing the critical importance of cooperation between the labor and business sectors—an approach strongly supported by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Pedro Haces Barba, senator and general secretary of CATEM, pointed out the significant achievements realized through the collaboration between labor representatives and the 4T government, including the increase in the minimum wage and the elimination of outsourcing. He emphasized the need to ensure that every decision aligns with the principles of the 4T movement.

Senator Ricardo Monreal highlighted the necessity of bolstering the relationship between workers and the government to further expand labor rights under Sheinbaum Pardo’s leadership.

The XV National Congress of CATEM also welcomed key figures such as Mario Delgado Carrillo, national president of Morena, along with governors and representatives from various institutions, who expressed strong support for the event’s principles and objectives.
