For years, Ja’Marr Chase has drawn most of the praise and attention as the best wide receiver in the Cincinnati Bengals’ WR room, and rightfully so.
But he’s not alone, and Joe Burrow has the privilege and the honor of having three potential WR1s in Chase, Tyler Boyd, and Tee Higgins.
So, now that Higgins is set to become an unrestricted free agent and likely looking at a huge payday, this is obviously a major concern for the Bengals and their fan base.
Nonetheless, Burrow believes there’s nothing to be worried about.
According to a report by Joe Danneman, Burrow structured his massive contract in a way that could allow his team to keep guys like Higgins on board for the long run, adding that he’s everything being a Bengal is all about.
“Made sure things were in place,” Burrow said in reference to having the ability to re-sign Higgins.
Joe Burrow: I expect Tee to be back. That’s the sentiment in the locker room. He’s what being a Bengal is all about.

Higgins has been an unsung hero for Zac Taylor’s team way too many times, making the most of all the defensive attention drawn by Chase and even stepping up when the LSU product has been out with injuries.
He’s coming off posting 42 receptions for 656 yards and five scores this season, and while those numbers might not be impressive, the Bengals’ offense struggled overall this season, first with Burrow dealing with a calf injury, and then being ruled out for the remainder of the season.
He’s just entering his prime and could be a WR1 somewhere else, and multiple teams could be interested in his services, so the Bengals will have to work their way around the salary cap to make sure he stays home.
