The NBA is heading into an era with many talented players across the league, with some believing this might be the most talented group of players the league has ever seen.
Along with all the talent in the league, there are a lot of talented dynamic duos in the NBA these days, with a number of teams having two players that lead the way and make it incredibly tough for opponents on a nightly basis.
ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins, who is no stranger to hot takes or making lists that cause a stir, recently named which duos he believes are the best from No. 1 to No. 5 in the league.
As usual, Perkins isn’t shy about making his list controversial and open to being attacked by fellow media members and basketball fans, with this list bound to rub some people the wrong way.
According to Perkins, Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic are currently the best duo in the NBA, which likely won’t get much flak due to the fact these two are still firing on all cylinders after winning it all last summer.
Where Perkins’ list gets questionable is with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers at No. 2 and the New York Knicks duo of Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson at No. 5 while leaving Los Angeles Lakers superstar duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis off the list entirely.

Tyrese Maxey & Joel Embiid
Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown
Giannis Antetokounmpo & Damian Lillard

Obviously, this is nothing more than Perkins’ opinion, and he’s paid to stir things up while coming up with lists like these on a daily basis, so it’s not all that surprising that he’d made some controversial picks here.
However, putting Maxey and Embiid that high and including Randle and Brunson on the list is a choice, especially with James and Davis not making the cut.
