The Dallas Cowboys headed into the 2023 NFL season with a lot of hype, as many believed that America’s Team could have the best defense in the NFL, led by arguably the best defensive player in the league in star linebacker Micah Parsons.
After the first two games of the season, the Cowboys seem to be as advertised, with Parsons and company dominating the competition on both sides of the football.
Only the San Francisco 49ers seem to be in the same category as the Cowboys this season, as the team is arguably the most well-rounded squad in the NFL right now and potentially on the verge of a very successful run in 2023.
Coming off the win over the New York Jets in Week 2, Parsons had high praise for Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy while making an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

He always shows the utmost respect to us and he takes care of his guys" @MicahhParsons11 #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/cUcICWLUZu

As Parsons points out, McCarthy is a “truly great coach and a great guy,” so he’s definitely won over the Cowboys’ best player, which is a telling sign for his future in Dallas if he can keep this team winning and competitive moving forward.
It is no easy task to be the Cowboys head coach, with team owner Jerry Jones always putting pressure on his guy to lead his team to the Super Bowl, even though the team hasn’t had much success in the postseason since their last title.
The real question now is whether the Cowboys can keep playing at a high level in the weeks ahead, as the pressure will be on to keep it going, especially when the showdown with the 49ers rolls around in Week 5.
